News: Ohio Residents Sue Over Speed Camera Tickets

The residents of the village of Lucas, in Ohio are suing their village authorities over what they believe to be unfair processes relating to the use of speed cameras.

More than 60 people who received $100 fines are involved in the action and seven lawyers who were separately approached by clients have combined their resources into a single class-action lawsuit.

They are citing lack of due process by the village, claiming that it did not follow state public notice requirements. They also say that the rules governing Ohio Mayor's courts were not followed. Some of the drivers are claiming that they weren't even speeding.
