News: Galileo Secure Service Testing Starts

pocketgpsworld.com
The European Space Agency announces that the testing has been started by Member States of the Galileo Secure Service. The ESA has also collaborated with Holland and Italy testing both fixed and mobile location services.

These services use the Public Regulated Service (PRS) which is an encrypted signal designed to be utilised only by authorised users such as emergency services. The testing of the Galileo PRS service has resulted in sub 10 metre accuracy from just the four satellites currently deployed.
