News: Car Connectivity Consortium passes 50 member mark
The Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) aims to bring together handset manufacturers and auto manufacturers to develop a global standard for MirrorLink™, a technology designed to integrate smartphones and in-vehicle systems.
We've covered a similar system from VNC, see here which works well but, as with all such solutions, wider adoption is vita to its success.
CCC have recently surpassed 58 members whose numbers include Alpine, BMW, Daimler, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, Garmin, Harman, Honda, HTC, Hyundai, JVC, Kenwood, LG, Mitsubishi, Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Pioneer, PSA, Renault, Samsung, Sony, Toyota, Volkswagen and many others.
It is reassuring to see some of the big names in the industry are on-board and we can hope that this means a standard will be set and hopefully adopted by manufacturers.
