Microsoft Smartphone GPS Navigation Solution to be launched at CeBIT

Early rumours that an MS Smartphone compatible GPS Nav solution was being developed appear to be true with strong hints that a number of manufacturers will be unveiling solutions at CeBIT exhibition.

There are a few hurdles that need to be overcome however, only one current Smartphone model has Bluetooth, HTC's popular E200, and this needs a service pack to correct bugs in its Microsoft Bluetooth Stack as problems with its implementation prevent it from receiving data from a connected BT GPS receiver. Amazingly (well i is Microsoft so perhaps not so surprising) the E200's Bluetooth Stack also has problems when used in conjunction with a WM2003 PocketPC which prevents access to its Dial-Up profile from the PPC!!
