Sony Announce Industry's First Single Chip GPS

Sony have released details of their latest GPS, a single chip version designed for inclusion in cellphones, PDA's and other applications requiring the ability for accurate positioning.

Hidden amone the specifications and features, Sony state that the CXD2951GA/GH/HL achieves the high tracking sensitivity of -150 dBm, and is capable of reception even indoors. There have been many rumours in the industry that improvements in reception sensitivity will realise this ability, the prospect of a GPS enabled cellphone that can maintain a lock inside a building could be closer than we realise!
