A Hull driver has been caught exceeding the national speed limit by average speed cameras over 30 times.

Jaroslaw Mista, 41, was caught on camera on the same road, the A1079, the Yorkshire road that links the cities of York and Kingston upon Hull, 36 times in total.

Hull Magistrates Court heard heard how the motorist racked up the speeding tickets over just a period of months and then consquently failed to respond to them. The police eventually had to visit him at work.

Mista, who appeared in court last Wednesday, was described by the judge as "disgraceful" and was handed a 10 year driving ban and fined £2,491.

A Humberside Police spokesman commented: "He had been detected on the average speed cameras which were installed along the A1079 on 2016. He was recorded speeding number of times at similar times over a period of months."

"Our central ticket office who deals with speeding motorists issued notices to Mr Mista but he failed to respond. Our subsequent enquiries identified his place of work and officers were sent to his work where he was questioned about the offences.

He continued: "When the case came to court, the judge made comments that his driving was disgraceful, and that he obviously had no regards for the laws in this country and that he did not deserve a driving licence."

Totally agree.

The judge should have added that if he is caught driving whilst disqualified he will receive a custodial sentence.
