A simple thought is - Is there a ford car called a Courier and if there isn't (and of course there isn't) then there's very little chance of it being a CDV.

But, there is a identical (exterior wise) vehicle called the Tourneo which is a car. Both are based on the Fiesta chassis and I have seen one on the road today. The only difference is the name. That said, it has been confirmed by DVLA what it is, so unless they have mis- labelled it, I shall happily clock up the extra overtime Very Happy

Good luck with the overtime at 10mph slower - my maths is rubbish so I can’t work out how much overtime you’ll achieve, maybe quarter of an hour for every 120 miles on a motorway, less on other roads. Here’s looking at your bank balance. Rolling Eyes

Just to put this to bed, and for anyone enquiring in the future, I have had a response from Ford.

The Transit Courier falls under N1 type apoproval, which means that it falls under speed limitations for goods vehicles.

Ho hum.....

Ho hum indeed

So it's gone from "car derived van" to the Type Approval classifications

How it’s got there is a neat bit of salesmanship. I happened to see a Tourneo a couple of days ago and how anybody can think that the van equivalent might be classless as Car Derived beats me! It’s pretty much a small minibus, so the salesman flogging it as car derived is brilliant. A closer Ford would be the Transit Connect, yet even that is not classed as CDV.
