Aldi have the Garmin Drive 51 with free lifetime EU maps and lifetime traffic (via mobile link app) for just £99 from today.

Same model is £160 in Halfords

Be quick though, their offers usually sell very fast in stores. You can also order online with free delivery.

Note the Traffic through Smartphone link. Bargain if that's what you want.

I saw the offer this morning while shopping in my local Aldi. There were five on display.

Plenty of Drive 51 available in my three "local" Aldi last night and this morning (I was looking for something else which they hadn't got).

I had been into Halfords and noted they had reduced their price from £129.99 to £99.99 but on checking the full spec I noted that it was the UK & Ireland version not the European one!!

It's often the same with other products as well.

Look at stuff in Poundland and B&M for example. They look cheap but the amounts in the bottles/tubes/whatever is often less than the supermarkets so not the bargain you initially think.

As silly as it sounds, I find Poundland really expensive! Home Bargains is generally cheaper (and also use normal retail size packs - 6 packs of crisps instead of the smaller 5 etc)

The nearest to you are in Tonbridge, Ashford and Maidstone. But, yes, mainly 'up North'.

193 in the POI database. Smile

Home Bargains are a Merseyside outfit - and sponsors of Tranmere Rovers FC!

(For some reason, everyone calls it Home and Bargain!)

I bought one of these the other day but am on the verge of returning it

Despite my TT520 now being obsolete in TT's eyes it still out performs the Garmin in nearly every way (don't get me started on routing although the edit route function looks interesting)

There are two features that I can not live without and unless I am missing a workaround that someone can instruct me then despite the out of date maps the TT still reigns.

I often drive a high vehicle (over 14 feet) and when planning a route on the TT I would go to details, browse map of route, find, poi along route, low bridges and would get a list of low bridges both directly on the route and also on alternative roads nearby. I can not find any way of replicating this on the Garmin. I did wonder if I could edit the list that notifies you of places ahead although that would only be half an answer as I don't think it would show me the while route just short view ahead.

I am stunned by the lack of information visible on the display while driving. I can have distance or time but not both, time to next instruction or total but not both. Again am I missing something?

If anyone has any suggestions or workarounds I would be very appreciative and my 520 could have a graceful retirement
