|
|
I've just been out for a verifier run and decided to run CamerAlert alongside my Garmin.
CamerAlert certainly popped up a banners correctly but was silent !
The only thing I can see is that the sound option was set to 'Default' which I've now changed to 'Device Speaker'
Would that do it?
Info: My phone does connect to the vehicle handsfree system so maybe that interferes ? _________________ Satnav:

Guessing your phone connects to hands free by Bluetooth so set output to Bluetooth (symbol on iPhone always looked like an exploding firecracker, but now it looks like a thing with a wire to the funny B sort of Bluetooth icon). _________________ Dennis

Thanks Dennis
Yes it does Bluetooth to the HFT. I wonder what 'default' actually does because it was Bluetooth connected but zilch.
Was was encouraging though was even after an hours run the phone was warm and not hot like my old phone. It didn't lock up after half an hour like the old one either.
I just need verbal warnings to work. _________________ Satnav:

In the Settings Menu, there is a Sound Warnings that needs to be Ticked.
In the Advanced Settings, there is a Custom Warning Volume setting that allows separate volumes for warnings and music.
That might help. _________________ Richard

Ta
The sound warnings was ticked and custom warning volume was also ticked and set to 80%.
Audio output - default
For my next run it's set to device speaker. I'll give bluetooth headset a go after that.
I've posted over on the Honda forum as well. Playing through the car system would be nice. The telephone can mute the radio so...... _________________ Satnav:

Yes, the Bluetooth headset option sends it through the car.
However, it's looking like I may have the reported issue of max volume.
Under 'default' altering the % slider makes a difference but under device or bluetooth still produces a maximum volume bong when released. _________________ Satnav:

That's what quite a few others have reported K. |

Yes, I spotted that.
Shame because it makes it unusable. I was just checking my options after our recent Garmin scare.
Hopefully the posts about an updated version is true, and in the pipeline. _________________ Satnav:

Late to the party but what's your set up in the car? Could it be that the audio is going through Bluetooth on the stereo but you've not got the stereo set to Bluetooth and it's on, eg, CD or Radio instead? |

Morning M
It's working through the car system or through the device speakers if I switch away from the 'default' sound option.
Snag is that 'device speaker' and 'bluetooth headset' sends 100% volume to both, regardless of % setting so is unusable, far too loud.
Is there an updated Android version in the pipeline ? _________________ Satnav:

Not a new discovery K and can't believe why MaFt says he's late to the party, as there have been numerous posts about just that, but have had no feedback from the developers. |

I meant late to THIS party - i.e. there had been a few replies before I queried the set up.

Is there a bluetooth audio connection on your stereo? |

As for the volume through BT Hands Free Kit - you'll have to adjust this on your receiver. I.e. go to the settings in CamerAlert and play a sample sound, adjust the handsfree volume on your stereo accordingly. OR while it's playing a sound when connected to the handsfree then adjust the volume on the phone (making sure that it's adjusting the handsfree/bt audio level and not the media, alarm or call volume. |
