nuvi 2xx7 and 2xx8 software version 5.20

as of January 4, 2016

available at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=5949

Change History

Changes made from version 5.10 to 5.20:
◦Added support for the Garmin babyCam™ accessory.
◦Made the volume mixer available regardless of the state of paired phones.
◦Fixed an issue where Australian state abbreviations were used instead of country abbreviations.
◦Improved software stability.

Updated my nuviCam with this last night.
Started it up this morning, warned me that the update may caused several reboots, clicked OK.
Bricked.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Updated this morning but not used it in anger. Just popping out to fire it up into navigation mode ....................................... 2599 all OK.

Did take quite a while though but I had no reboot warnings.

Yes, it was one of two updates through Garmin Express, the other was a language change.

Oh dear.
A colleague managed to switch it back on by pressing the camera and power buttons simultaneously.

How embarrassing!

Interestingly, the update to software version 5.20 was done this morning as part of updating my Garmin Safety Cameras. (Nuvi 2548LMT-D)

I updated my 2508lt-d to 5.20 using garmin express, on update my digital traffic receiver cable in car would no longer work with a message on screen ' the connected power cable is not compatible with traffic' even though it worked fine before update.

I found an earlier firmware version and put it back on device and now it receives traffic again fine. so beware.

I tried using Garmin support service but just got a standard reply!!!! not helpful at all.

The nuviCam had a completely different firmware update to version 3.10. No issues experienced but glad your colleague fixed it for you.

My 2508lmt-d is working perfectly on 5.20 so it's not the software, you must have another problem.

I have a 2598 and have the same problem. It was working fine on Wednesday.

How do you roll back the firmware?
