Like many, I now have built in SatNav in the car and want a stand alone unit that I can run ONLY the speedcam warnings on.... and it must work in Europe....the smaller (and cheaper) the better.
Do I NEED one with European maps to be able to run the PocketGPSWorld speed camera warnings in Europe ???
Thanks in anticipation |

Have you considered running them on your smart phone?
If you want a satnav then theoretically you could run the database without a map, and on Garmin units you would have a very crude 'basemap' anyway if you didn't have European maps, but it could get confusing. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thanks yes, I did consider that.....but the smartphone is tucked away when driving (!!!)
I also need one in my van as I can't use smartphone app (company lockdown) so all I need is an audible warning....hence cheapest / old satnav ? |

Any Garmin would do what you want so I'd just find the cheapest one you can that works, to get around the map issue you could load a free OSM map, there are numerous ones around for Garmin satnavs. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
