A West Yorkshire man has been jailed for using a speed camera jammer.

Nigel Stephenson, 65, had previously been caught speeding twice so decided to fit the laser jamming device to the front of his car. He also had a camera warning device inside the vehicle.

Perhaps predictably, but not by Stephenson, on two occasions in August 2014, North Yorkshire police officers found that their mobile speed camera showed an error when it was pointed at his Jaguar. This of course made the officers suspicious.

Stephenson, who had already been cautioned for using a similar device back in 2010, pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice. He was jailed for two months banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay £1,000 in costs.

When passing sentence, the judge at Bradford Crown Court said: "You will understand, as will others who choose to spend significant amounts of money equipping their car so that they can break the law as they wish, that prison is the outcome for offences such as this."

And the judge probably gave a mugger/rapist/murderer a fine.

Country has gone to pot.

The daft thing about this is the driver wasn't done for speeding, & may well not have been doing so, which would be rather ironic Laughing. I'm guessing his jammer reacts to the police laser regardless of the speed he's doing, with predictable results. Either way, the driver is a fool & I don't have ANY sympathy for him.
