I have the Navman 4410 with SmartST V2 and live in Denmark.
I have tried to make a route to France, but it tells me that there was an unknown error making the route, the "route-icon" counts all the way tp 99% before it tells me this.
I can make routes to all of Europe just not France and as I bought the damn thin because of a holiday to France this august, I am a bit disappointed!!!
I have tried to delete the maps of France from my 512 MB SD card and reinstall them with no result.
I have tried to install the service pack 2 with no result.
Does anybody have the same error??

I have also asked Navman about this last week, but the last I asked them a question it took them 1½ month to answer.......

Could it be because there is only 6 MB free on my SD card??

Please help.......august is coming up......

Hi. Poder
I get the same kind of message, but I thought it was of the English Channel. I have plotted a route to Dover, which is fine. Hopefully when I reach Calais I will be able to plot a route to Le-Mans,(for an over night stop) which is loaded into favorites. Then onto the Dordogne,(which is also in favorites) for the next day. I will be giving an in depth report to this forum as requested be Tim one of the moderators.
I can’t comment on your other points, but watch this space.
Regards

What are your start and end points and what maps do you have loaded? I only have a 256Mb SD card but will see what I can get on it.

My starting point is Denmark (3300) and end point is everwhere in France! As soon as I try just outside of France it is no problem!

The maps I have loaded is:
Denmark
Denmark Outerworld
Schleswig-Holstein
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Berlin-Brandenburg
Sachsen-Anhalt
Niedersachsen-Hamburg
Niedersachsen-Hannover
Thüringen
Bayern Nord
Hessen
Niedersachsen-Bremen
Nordrhein-Westf. Duisburg
Nordrhein-Westf. Düsseldorf
Rheinland-Pfalz Nord
Saarland, Rheinland Pf
Luxemburg
Baden-Württemberg
Baden-Württemberg Süd
Bayern Mitte
Bayern West
North East France
South East France
South France
Schwitzerland
North West Italy

Hope this helps!!

I don't think ST Pro likes going over water, I would suggest you split the plan according to the number of water crossings you are planning.

Poder,

Well, now I've had time, I've loaded enough maps to get from Denmark to France. Unfortunately I only have 256Mb cards and I put the maps onto a CF card fitted into my Navman SE sleeve.

The maps I loaded were

North East France
Denmark
Danmark Outerworld (?)
Schleswig-Holstein
Niedersachsen-Hamburg
Niedersachsen-Bremen
Nordrhein-Westf. Duisberg
Niedersachsen-Hannover
Hessen
Nordrhein-Westf. Dusseldorf
Rheinland-Pfalz Nord
Saarland, Rheinland-Pf
Luxembourg

The card had about 6Mb free on it.

I successfully set a route from Munkebo (on Fyn) to Seurre Office du Tourisme and from the Office du Tourisme to the E20 which links Denmark with Sweden (so much for SmartST not routing over water!).

So, I don't know the cure to your problem but I can only say that routing from Denmark to France *is* possible.

Is the problem more to do with the number of maps loaded by Poder? Confused

There is a statement somewhere that the more maps used, the more application memory used.

I suggest Poder just selects the maps needed (you can do this in SmartST V2, i.e. the list suggested by Tim.

Roughly 10% of the total size of the active maps is required to run them, so about 50Mb of programme memory for 500Mb of maps, and that doesn't include the application.
