I'm guessing here, do you mean warn when POI on route? If so:

Advantage: You should only get warned of POIs (cameras) on route.
Downside: If you have no route planned then you get no warnings at all.

As your user name is "CAA_0719124526" I'm taking an educated guess that you use or have used CamerAlert. I load the cameras onto my TomTom 950 (with no warnings at all set) and use CamerAlert on my iPhone to do the actual warnings. The POIs on the TomTom 950 are just to show me where they are when I glance at the SatNav.
