Hopefully, this is the right forum for my question.
I am using an HTC One with NFC. I bought some Sony tags to use but have run into a problem which makes me suspect that I have done something wrong.
All I wanted to do was program one tag for the car with both CamerAlert and CoPilot on it, but either one of the apps comes up with not enough room on the tag, which seems a bit odd to me. Any helpful advice please...thanks.

I'm guessing you mean NFC? I've edited the title so it might get a few more replies :D

I've never used NFC Tags & don't know a great deal about them but I do know that they come in different types/sizes (memory wise) so maybe you've got the small ones?

Thanks, I had no idea. Purchased from Amazon and the Sony description makes no mention of size....'Start up one, two three or more tasks.....you decide'
In fact many of the suppliers make no mention of 'size'.

Thanks. ..very useful. Trying to write the CamerAlert app to the tag , shows the following;

Store failed, NFC data set too large.
Type 2 Tag Max 46 bytes
AmerAlert 47 bytes

So it seems that you have to be careful when buying these things, as it says that CoPilot is 55 bytes. I suppose I'm just a bit surprised that Sony and others perhaps don't make this a bit clearer re. capacity, as I for one, wouldn't have the foggiest idea what size tags to purchase.

Looks like you've got 'Ultralight' (46 bytes): "Cost effective chip for short URLs in products (wristbands, keyfobs, etc)."

Useful to know as I'd considered getting some of these.

Another thing though may want to consider is that, as far as I'm aware, tags are switches not toggles, so you'll need 2 suitably placed tags, one with the appropriate run commands & a second tag with corresponding stop commands, otherwise the apps will continue to run when you leave the car - I think!

I'm running NFC with Sony tags on my Sony Xperia SP
Using the same tag
Start switch on Bluetooth, GPS, Data, CamerAlert (which I've set to start CoPilot).

End I manually close Copilot & CA but connect the same tag to close Data, GPS & bluetooth.

The tag I use is described as a NT1 and NFC tag info app tells me it is :-
NFC Forum Type 2 Tag
Max message size 46 byte

What may assist is the Sony Smart tag manual available at
http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/nt1/userguide_EN_NT1_1263-3650.2.pdf
