I have Overspeed warning and All Clear Warning set to None in the Warnings section of the settings and I'm sure I no longer get these annoying sounds.

So do I. Remember it only appears to happen on mobile camera warnings not normal ones.

Hmm. I'll have a test later. Around here most of the cameras are Mobile. Very few fixed units in comparison to the number of Mobile sites.

Under Camera Warnings what are your settings?

I use

Pre-Warning None
Warning Sound Male Voice
Shortened Warning Off
Over Speed None
All Clear None

Have you tried changing the settings and then then back to None?

Yes identical, but with female voice. I've tried the on/off route also.

I tried all the options on and off. And can confirm that the bong only happens following a mobile camera voice warning. It occurs bwetween the first warning and actually getting to the camera location. The screen shows the red warning with the distance and tick and cross options. its almost asking for you to select one of the options. Today I did this by rapping the cross. However at the next mobile camera I needed to do the same. This is not only annoying, but dangerous in as much as I have to take my eyes off the road to ensure to hit the button. It is only mobiles that this secondary warning sounds.

There must be a way to turn off this.

Tested this yesterday and noticed I do have the annoying bong with mobile cameras. Not sure I thought I didn't. Perhaps I've tuned it out!!

So we're back to the beginning of the thread then? Do pgps read the forums?

It's asking you if the camera is there or not. Not whether you want it to ask you the question or not.

BTW the second definitive answer to the question posed at post #1 was answered concisely by a PGPSW administrator at Post #2

Perhaps it was you who did not read the first two thread posts?

I really cant see why you have to be so personal. Not everyone is as clever as you.

I'd prefer not to have to answer this question and have it distracting me. The original questioner asked why it ocurred, I would like to be able to turn it off. If it is not currently an option, where do I post to enable the programmers to consider it at the next revamp?

Try not to be so condescending in your reply M8TJT and play nicely.

OK. I'll play nicely and explain myself. I assumed, possibly incorrectly, that you were implying that staff from PGPSW hierarchy do not bother to read the forums

and I was pointing out that they do, and answered the OP's question at post 2. I agree that the answer was perhaps a little on the curt sided, but it was an accurate statement of fact
As it happens I am in total agreement with the request to be able to turn it off, as I also find it extremely annoying and there are several other threads in the PGPSW forums that support this annoyance. It's not that PGPSW staff do not respond to questions, it's the fact that they

a.don't do anything about a common complaint and
b. do not give an open and honest reply as to why this 'is not possible at present'

[Rant]you could try in the device threads, which you have done. But if PGSW are just going to ignore the complaints of the annoyance, then there is actually little that can be done abut it.

An another annoyance whilst in the rant mode. Why the hell can't we edit posts in this and several other threads. C'mon, be consistent, either allow us to edit posts or don't.

See, I wanted to edit in a [/rant] at the end of my last rant, but have to unnecessarily make yet another post to include it and further clutter up the whole thread.
