Garmin Announnce vivofit Fitness Band

Garmin have today announced their vívofit (pronounced 'vee-vo-fit') fitness band - a lightweight wristband which claims to "turn good intentions into lifelong habits". Compatible with ANT+ heartrate monitors the vívofit adjusts your daily schedule to push you a little bit further each day and also features an inactivity monitor - if you've been stationary for an hour then it prompts you to move around.

The vívofit features a curved screen and is water-resistant up to 50m. Users of the fitness band can upload their data to Garmin Connect, a free service that allows you to track your progress over time.

It will be available later this quarter with an RRP of £99.99 on its own or £129.99 with a heartrate monitor.
