Does the speed camera database work with this system?

I'm looking to upgrade my current device to this in the near future?

Thanks
Frank

It's not one we are aware of... (see the "compatibility table HERE.

Having said that, it might work, or it might be a re-badged system from another company which works.

The first questions we need to ask (or you do!) are
1. Can it accept "third-party" or "user" POIs (points of interest)?
2. If it can, does it have some sort of proximity warning system for them?

The spec says that the Nav is iGO Primo on SD card. So yes you will be able to add our cameras, and they are directional on the iGO navsoft

Firstly, with the standard skin, you have to have a sat fix otherwise the setting does not show.
Then it's at something like Menu, Settings, Warnings, Speed camera warnings. I have a custom skin, so it may be slightly different on yours.

As an alternative you could try RTFM here Very Happy

Hi

Here's the problem I'm encountering....

In the speed camera database that comes with the system there are 2 files,

speedcam.spdb
SpeedcamUpdates.spud

They're located in a folder called speed cameras under content.

If they're in there - I can select speed cameras - and I can select warnings etc..., which is fine, this however must be igo propriety database - as it's not directional, and doesn't warn of the type of camera etc, that I've been using for many years.

If, however, I delete them, and replace them with the PocketGPSworld database, then I can't even see the speed Camera warnings showing up to be selected.

You copy the PGPSW speedcam .txt file into the folder that you have mentioned. When iGO starts, it should 'hang' for a few seconds on 'INITIALLISING WARNING DATABASE' or some such. It will create a new .spdb and .spud file containing the PGPSW data which is directional. I suspect that the supplied database does not contain the direction data.

And remember you must have a GPS fix for the enable 'button' to show on a standard skin.

The .spud file contains any speedcams you add to the device manually or the location of any cams that you have deleted/modified from the main list. The main database is in the .spdb file, and WILL work (eventually) ;-)
