Can someone remind/tell me what happens when you tick or untick this box in Settings/Navigation.

Please.

My Routes (as opposed to Shortest and Fastest) I think will use your past history to select possible route/routes.

Although I have it selected it probably isn't must help as I switch between a small car and a 5 berth motorhome. Also don't know if history is lost when app is updated.

Note that with route planning if more than one location is used then only one route is offered.

Thanks Tim,

That sounds rather good if it works.

I'll tick it.

I have one route out of London towards the A3 that avoids Putney High Street and I use it whenever we drive south. It is unconventional. It will be interesting to see if Navigon offers it.

Tim,

Just done a bit more reading on MyRoutes.

Is it not the setting that makes the navigator offer you up to three alternative routes?

The reason I dug a bit deeper is because I remember Garmin being challenged by the Nuvi users as to why the machine could not remember the variations that drivers chose when they diverted from the offered route. Garmin said they could not do it at the time - which made me wonder why they could with Navigon.

Don't know how clever the remembered history is - think it only runs to whether you prefer main roads or local and similar.

Tim,

Navigon have just replied to my query.

Dear Mr Gamble,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Regarding the MyRoutes question, when they are enabled you can select three routes when you enter a destination.
If this option is disabled the route will simply be calculated according to your route profile settings.
These three routes are only useful when you are familar with the area and the roads.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions.
Yours sincerely,

I must admit that I have never chosen anything other than the orange route. But now we know....

Am currently on site in Cirencester in the 'van.
I was offered three routes from Newport (Newport - so good they named it twice) my usual up the A46 from the M4, via Chippenham on Stroud road from M4, from M5 east on Stroud road. They are all about 60 miles and take about an hour.
I was impressed at how good each alternative was - perhaps it was just a fluke!
