No, not me. I think it's only use is to make the "beep" at waypoints more audible.

An earlier User Guide shows this socket as 'Audio jack (AV POIs)", and the Volume Control page notes:

"Audio Playback Volume
This is a volume control when using the audio jack. This function relates to audiovisual Points Of Interest which will be available in a future software update."

Seems like we haven't got there yet.

I haven't tried it, but I'm not sure you can listen to the 'beeps' through this socket. Not sure who'd want to!

Chris, you are correct. I have just followed a route to my local shop. A start point, a destination, 6 waypoints and two poi's. I never heard a thing from my earphones, it still beeped through the loud (sic) speaker. The only time I heard anything was a feint "static/interference" sound when I pushed the buttons to operate it or toggled.

I really did believe that it had the potential to be my Saviour if I ever got into blizzard conditions. I thought that I would be able to shelter in a cairn, plot a safe route off the mountain and I would hear the beep over the howling gale at strategic points to help get me down safely (not that I ever pack a pair of earphones).
