I'd like to know the difference between HD traffic on a 950 and HD traffic on a 540 as yesterday(Monday) my 540 could not connect to the TT server but when I turned on the 950 it worked perfectly. The 540 worked ok this morning.

Also last week before the failure both units were showing the same traffic hold-ups but the 540 gave a 6 minute delay and the 950 gave a 3 minute delay.

The Live traffic on my 540 was not working yesterday morning but it was when i tried it about 6pm. Been ok today, so they must have fixed something. Just proves the full factory reset would have been a waste of time.

But that is TT's SOP. Just like Windows. Got a problem. Switch it off. Go outside and turn round a couple of times. Go back in. Restart it and it all works like a gudun. Works with cars as well.

Of course my 740 is failing to get connected this morning. Snow outside. Using the TT HD Web site, I can see there would be 145 incidents in the zone.

And just to update, my 540 hasn't connected since I've switched it on 30min ago. Traffic is down but other services are working. Were experiencing quite a lot of bad weather at the moment so I don't know if that has impacted on the servers but it's certainly down right now. Currently in Dundee btw.

Update: It has now connected after around 50min however the visible range of incidents appears to have been scaled back to around 60 miles.

Traffic on my 740 is showing the furthest "nearly directly south" incident as 75 miles away. Halfway to Birmingham only. For shame.

Here today, gone tomorrow, back again.

Just updating my TomTom 740, and (using cellular) it is showing traffic to Birmingham again. The range is obviously quite dynamic at the moment.

That might be nice, if they are actually tweaking it all the time. Not a lot happening = longer range.

If only they would tell us.
