Hi, I've finally got a device that can replace.my old TomTom GO920 in my Android Tablet.

I'm also saddened that some of the POI functoons have been removed from the new TomTom app, so Sygic is my choice.

I have camera alert running in the background and with advice from here it works pretty well, although the time to verify a mobile site is a little low, but another thread is dealing with that.

I'd like to use the app to report new sightings. Is there an easy way to bring it to the foreground quickly?

Press and hold the 'middle button' until the task manager 'recent progs' comes up, then tap the CA icon. The 'back' button will then return you to Sygic.
Glad you've got it working now. I asked if you had in your other thread.
Edit for speeling

Yes, sorry, got it going yesterday.

Many thanks.

Also found navigating to POI groups, which also helps Smile

Got it, thanks again.

Just for clarity, the taskmaster button on the NEXUS7 is the RHS button, and a quick press will do it. Smile

Seems Sygic's file locations are different in the new version I'm using.

Sygics website says place converted RUPI files and associated bmp's in to cygic/auramaps/import & that the bmp's will re-size to 100 x 100 pixels automatically with a wizard

There is no such folder.

Finally got it all up and running, with my files & the latest database but, I had to place all the RUPI files into: sygic/maps/rupi/gbr
Placing the bmp's in there did nothing, so I put them in: sygic/Res/icons.

I also had to resize them and increase some colour depths to 256 colours (8 Bit) and 100 x 100 pixels. They didn't show up until both these actions were taken.

Edit:
More good news, once set up, the rupi files are amended to .rupix with their original filenames as a prefix. So much better than those random numbers of other versions, and great for backing up.

Seperate sounds and warnings are selectable for each POI file as well, which are easily edited from the map screen.

My old TomTom is in the glovebox Smile

Hope this helps

There is no such folder.
When I read it, Sygic's website also says that if the folder does not exist, then create it Rolling Eyes
I just put the converted PGPSW stuff there, and it 'just did it' No mucking about with icons or filenames etc.

How do you do that from the map screen. I have to switch to the POI menu Sad

Sorry, I meant that you can edit POI locations from the front screen, not the sounds etc.

Yea, missed the "create folder", but as there is no "auramaps" directory, I assumed it was all well out of date.

Update: Just tried to copy the rupi files from my tablet to my desktop - to transfer to my phone, and it wouldn't allow it. The sounds and icons transferred fine.

Then you must be looking at something old. It's ...Sygic/maps/import
