I have had a problem getting the full maps of Europe onto the internal memory of my 1695.

So I fitted a 16GB micro SDcard and used Mapinstall to load the map onto the SDcard. After (apparently) loading the map I disconnected the 1695 from the computer and then started it. I then went to View maps but all I see is an almost blank screen with some place names upon it.

I thought perhaps something had gone wrong so I reloaded the map using the same procedure and the result was exactly the same.

Looking at the SDcard shows that there is one directory on the card called "Map" and in this folder are three files as follows

1. 059ab186-27a3-44d7-b0de-5448bab248c4.gma (3 kB)
2. City Navigator Europe NT 2013.2 2.img (2756096 kB)
3. City Navigator Europe NT 2013.2.img (2756096 kB)

I imagine that file 3 is a duplicate of file 2 and is the actual map.

How do I get the 1695 to use this map?

i would say that 3 is the original and '2' is the duplicate - '2' has " 2" at the end implying it was copied after and renamed so it didn't overwrite it.

Perhaps having 2 identical maps is causing the issue? just try removing one of them and see if that works. Better still, cut and paste one to somewhere on your harddrive so you still have both as a backup.

Click on tools/settings/map/map info (that is sequence on my Nuvi, it probably varies slightly depending on model) and make sure that there is a tick beside your map version.

I unticked this box once and it gave me a map screen similar to what you describe. Smile
