Probably your best bet would be one of these that have the magnetic base as these tend to be flat. |

Just do what I did which was to saw off the protruding bits to end up with a flat surface. I then used sandpaper to smooth out the rough edges, and as you're going to stick a move clip on it you won't be able to see the DIY handwork anyway. |

If you want a clean setup, then this is the one to use. Just be careful you don't get it near any hard disks due to it's magnetic plate!

And you can easily remove the magnet, just unpeel the velour covering, lever out the magnet from the recess and either reapply the velour or remove and replace with the move clip. _________________ Darren Griffin |

These do work good, and I still have two here that I should really fix back in-car, my main issue is I always seem to put my MicroDrive's in close proximity to magnetic GPS mice and magnetic suction mounts. I've got to stop doing this! |

|

Hey Guys,
Great site! I just got a Holux GM-210 (based on your rec's) with Mapopolis and love it (well except for that the T3 connector is a bit loose, I think due to the T3's poor adherence to the "universal connector" spec than anything).
I wanted to get a car mount but I really like my case, a PDAir metal case that opens up book style. It protects very well, but the pda doesn't come out easily, so I have been spending endless hours to find a good solution.
I think Dave's suggestion for the Haicom magnetic pda mount might do the trick! I can just stick the pda, case and all, on the magnet. The problem is the case isn't quite so magnetic. Do you know if the Haicom comes with metal plate that has tape on it to stick my case? or if there might be another magnectic pda holder out there you would recommend with that feature?
Thanks! |

The magnetic PDA holders normally come with a small adhesive metal plate that you attache to your device. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi,
Having got fed up with a windscreen mount that requires my SPV M2000 to have the screen work in Lanscape to enable me to connect the power to it, as well as falling of the windscreen periodically (so far without the phone attached!) I was looking at the SHDCLDESK - Silver Mount Hi Deep Desk from EasyDevices.
However they are out of stock until the end of December!
Anyone know where else I can get one of these. _________________ LG G4, Google Nexus 9, Garmin Oregon 600T |
