If the second is added to the 30th June, it must be an extra one so it will either be at midnight BST delaying the start of July 1st by a second, or more likely midnight GMT (or whatever they call it these days).

Edit: More interestingly, Nav2 devices have been through this before; I wonder if TT are ready for any Nav3 impact?

I've just remembered something (not completely off topic), probably wrong but happy to be shown the error of my ways.

I was once told that the time 23:59:59 lasts for two seconds because the time 00:00:00 can not exist due to potential errors/accidents/missed appointments i.e. Is that Wednesday or Thursday. So 23:59:59 goes straight to 00:00:01 to avoid any confusion.

Must remind myself to watch the clock at 23:59:59 UTC tomorrow. Sad

I understand from the TT forum that customer support is blaming the leap second for the problems with sirfstar3 devices over the last few days. But I think the problem started before that?

And isn't it strange that both my non TomTom Sirf Star 3 device times are exactly synchronised with my Radio clock (to better than a second) and neither of them give a tracking position error even with 'Lock to road' switched off
Sounds like more baloney from TT. Strange also that most of the posts regarding positional error seem to start with the line 'Since updating..... Rolling Eyes

There was 5 months warning of the leap second addition. I'd have thought this would be basic computer training stuff?
