Apologies if this is something you already knew, but I've just discovered that you can register @ http://www.telmap.com/planner to use the web-based interface. Much handier for sorting and creating saved locations!

Yes, this has come up a couple of times. From memory it was an area that the Telmap guys were looking into but abandoned (unfortunately). It would be very useful to have somewhere to sync 'My Places' to from my BB to avoid losing them during upgrades as well as to plan journeys/destinations on a larger screen and then simply send them to my mobile device.

If they can get this working it would be great.

It IS working - I'm already using it! Perhaps my post wasn't clear, the interface is up and running now.

Exclamation Sorry Ray I did misunderstand. I tried again and I see what you mean - 'My Places' are on the page. Adding a new one on the web, clicking sync and restarting Telmap on my BB has added it to my list on the Blackberry. Nice. Clearly this hasn't been dropped by Telmap as an idea.

I see no way of making a backup though.. Certainly something to have a play with, until Telmap Admin tells us to leave it alone Laughing

FYI - http://global.telmap.com/Content.aspx?Page=Mapping_Navigation

Telmap Web Companion is a web application that complements the Mobile Location Companion to provide users an all-round location experience connecting the PC and mobile. It is a central repository where users can manage all their digital locations, and then synchronize them with their mobile. Telmap Web Companion provides full search, mapping, routing and sharing functionalities and can be integrated into operator’s web portal or act as a stand-alone branded web application.

Which implies it's an in-production standard part of the service. Rolling Eyes

I'm sure if TPTB don't want us to use it, they'll let us know!

Wow! As SyBorg I didn't know that this service is now working!

But guys, how could you register? Everytime I try I get the following error:
Quote:
User ID could not be found
But my entered activation code is right! I tried several times but I had no luck.

You don't enter your activation code, you need the serial number from About.

Yep, that's what I used too.

I need to use Telmap this evening for a drive through France so I'll try loading my destinations via the web and see how it goes.

Is the web interface still active? I signed up for it when it was first announced in this post, but the link given above now just points to a page with "information" about the service. How do I get back to the service itself?

Since the update, syncing newly added locations from the website to my Blackberry no longer works. Anyone seeing the same?

OK - if you logout from the site and re-register it now works. Perhaps the serial number changes with each version change?
