Anyone got one of these and have it set up and running yet ?? My son has two new ones ready to install but as yet, no installer down south !! Lovely clear screen but can't see where the Satellite Status bar is.

I think these are based on Go1000 hardware, so any comments about that model are equally relevant to yours.

Satellite status bar hasn't been seen on a TomTom for ages, (I think it disapeared on software v7 or 8, and new models are on v11 now).

Their reasoning was that the newer chip-sets used now are so sensitive and satellite dropouts so uncommon, that you don't need to have a display on the screen all the time (using up space on the status bar)

You can still find a pretty satellite display on Settings / GPS Status, but it doesn't tell you much. The brightness of the "stars" is supposed to give some vague idea of their signal strength.
