Trafficmaster is to stop it's Freeway and Oracle service from June 2012.

Sad I'll need to take my Q-Busta out then as that uses the TrafficMaster roadside transmitters as well.

I always found this sevice to be more accurate than the TMC-RDS as it was instant and not reliant on Chinese whispers to the various radio stations.

Hi,

Thanks for the heads-up and yes how sad. Sad

I suppose I can't really complain as I believe my original hardware (branded Cellnet) cost £9.95 and wired-into the car (using a cigar lighter/USB home-made adapter cable) hasn't even cost anything for batteries. But the warning LEDs/sound are sufficient to make decisons such as which of the A3/M3/M25, etc. to use, and as you say far often more useful/accurate than radio announcements.

As a matter of principle/safety I don't use a mobile phone in ANY form when driving and as a "casual" user I'm afraid that I find the subscription/hardware prices for Trafficmaster's alternative offerings laughable.

Cheers, Alan.
