Is it possible to download poi to my mac book and transfer it to Tom Tom

Yes. Just follow the instructions, and if/where it says use Windows Explorer, use Mac Finder instead.

Simply put...
1. Download
2. Unzip
3 Copy/paste the unzipped files into the folder of your map, e.g. UK and ROI, or Western Europe, or similar.
