I guess a lot depends on how long £14.99 will the current price? If I cancel my recurring subscription now, the price may have gone back up by the time my renewal is due, and all I will have done is wasted time on Paypal!
Are you planning for this to be a long-term reduction , or more of a summer offer?
Not a big issue, as the worst that will happen is it will cost me an extra two quid!

PS: Heard on Question Time last night of the proposed consultation on raising the motorway limit to 80mph - yes please! What it needs is lots of us "speed aware" drivers to write in in support, because you can be sure all the nay-sayers will be responding to the consultation predicting armageddon on the roads and an instant meltdown of the whole planet. |

Have a read through again. You can top up now at £14.99 and then cancel ALL recurring payments. You will then have the balance of your current subscription PLUS the 12mths at £14.99 before it all expires.
Or, if your current sub expires soon, top up, leave the £14.99 renwal as auto-recurring and renew ad-infinitum at that price and then at some distance point, cancel this and use the remaining balance.
Choice is yours at the end of the day.
The 80mph limit needs a new thread, long overdue, crazy given it was 70mph in the days of Morris Minors and drum brakes! But I digress, that's OT for this thread.

This may seem a strange question...
I was awarded a lifetime subscription, but is there a way that I can make a small (say £10) recurring yearly donation (via Paypal) to help with the costs and maintanance of this service?

Indeed there is, you can make a PayPal donation to the site manually using the recipient address accounts [AT] pocketgpsworld.com on the Send Money form in PayPal.
Every little extra is appreciated.

As my subscription was up in Jan, I have renewed at £14.99 as a recurring payment - I am sure the savings once the price goes up again will offset paying up further upfront - and as you say, if I ever decide to cancel my renewal I will get the months back again.
At a time of increasing pension costs, pay freezes and rising fuel costs, the discount is very welcome (although I felt £16.99 was still good value).

Thanks Neil, your support is appreciates ( as is everyone's).
The tally so far is 3 tickets form people 'disgusted', 'angry' or 'robbed' which isn't too bad I guess.
Like everyone, we're feeling the pinch and we have to make strike the balance between making a profit and keeping all of our subscribers happy.
It's not always that simple of course but we have very little churn and a large number of subscribers who've been with us for a number of years now so we must be doing something right?

Are you going to notify via the weekly newsletter that the offer will be finishing (in say 1 week). The reason I ask is that my sub is July but I paid in Dec last year and don't want to get too far ahead but of course would like to take advantage of the offer.

I think I answered that a few posts above? No we don't, we're constantly monitoring subscriptions and gauging reaction. No firm date has been set for the end though and this is not a permanent price drop.
But, as I said earlier, I'm happy to commit to giving a week's notice of the end of the offer, can't say fairer than that.
