TomTom Home timeouts

The Home software is most definitely TomTom's weakest link.

The major gripe is it's forever throwing errors connecting to their Server.

e.g.
ERROR: 2152398862/#https://home.tomtom.com/redir/services: Error from server: The connection to the TomTom server timed out.

Has anyone else found this and more importantly is there a work around. Much appreciated.

P.S. I don't believe it's a firewall/AV/network issue as it works intermittently.
