I have followed all the instructions on here to add custom poi (speed camera database PGPSW) and the thread already discussing this. I have tried garmin\poi\; Garmin\poi and just Garmin but I get disc error. I have tried cdr, cdrw and dvd all finalised, still no joy HELP Exclamation

another method open to you is to update via usb (eaiser done on a laptop) to do this you will need:
poi loader
a copy of the database
a laptop (or take your desktop out to the car)
a usb to mini-b cable

run poi loader and select save to computer. (i recommend saving to desktop as it is easy to find)
follow the instructions in poi loader when it asks you to choose a name for the custom poi you must choose "poi"and not the defult option of "garmin.poi" as it wont work. if all goes well when poi loader finishes there should be a file on your computer called poi.gpi

make sure the map screen is showing on the kenwood befour connecting the laptop to your kenwood. (done via the mini b port on the back of the unit) so you dont have to remove the unit from your dashbord every time you wish to update you may wish to route the cable to your glovebox (if the laptop asks to download drivers click yes)

wait a few seconds then a blue screen will pop up with 2 options one of which is mass storage tap mass storage. on the laptop go to my computer open up garmin mass storage device click garmin folder then poi folder and drag and drop the poi.gpi file to this folder after a few seconds it should be complete. all you need to do then is click safely remove hardware and unplug. the kenwood will then reboot and all should be working
