Laughing

It's surprising how many ex Honda owners still visit the site to keep in touch.

They couldn't 'pick' a better place though Smile

Many thanks for an excellent review pottsy. I had been toying with the idea of upgrading to one of either TT's or Garmins flagship models but just couldn't decide which. Your unbiased review has sealed it for me:- neither. Although my lowly x30's don't have the bells and whistles of the 950, your write up has convinced me to stay put.

10/10.

TT (via twitter) have said that they have read the review and will "feed it back to the team".

I hope they do, because with just a few changes, the 1005 would be a nice PND.

A good review of the three units, but having read a previous thread of yours, I knew which would come out on top Laughing

I would offer the following, as an owner of a 1005, from a 730T.

The traffic, for me, works well, much better than the RDS traffic on the 730. My commute fits into the traffic radius, so all good for me, and I'd give it 9/10 for accuracy.

The screen is not a problem for me. Yes it reflects a lot, quite often I can see my shirt in it when driving, but I can still clearly see the map, and to be honest, I don't look at the map that often, just listen. If I need to review the map, then I move the sat nav to remove the reflection, it's easy to do.

The mount is 100x better than the 730T mount, mine is mounted on a cushion on the dash, very stable.

Start up time, including routing and obtaining traffic info is much better than my 730T.

I don't have much issue with MyTomTom, it works, just, but clearly could be improved.

So to summarise, I don't regret upgrading from my 730T, the improvements that have been made make it worthwhile. While the unit and/or the software have issues, they are not show-stoppers for me.

Hope this helps, from another user. Thanks for taking the time to perform the review though, shows one thing clearly to me, Garmin have dropped the ball in some areas. Shocked
