hi everyone i'm new so be gentle :-)

can anyone tell me if TYRE works with the Garmin NUVI 1410?

i was looking at the NULINK 2320 as it has a dedicated button for a 'planned route' but the NAVI 1410 hasn't. i have had 2 tomtom's from halfords which i had to take back as there was no itinerary planning available on them. so i'm not popular there at the moment :-)

i have noticed that in the menu of the 1410 it says 'route planning' or something similar and i was wondering if this was the same as itinerary planning.

i like to plan my day out to stop at lots of different places and would like to plan my day out the night before and being able to use TYRE would be ace.

thanks

daft

The nuvi 14xx series can accept routes downloaded to it as gpx files. I haven't used TYRE, but if it is capable of downloading routes as gpx files then it will work.

Even if you can't there are lots of other free utilities out there that can Smile

However you should note that when sending a 'route' the nuvi only really receives the various waypoints, and will recalculate depending on what is set on the nuvi, eg shortest, fastest route etc. So you do need to check and insert further waypoints if necessary.

done it and it works a treat with TYRE. bit fiddly as once you send the file to the 1410 you then have to go into the system and covert the file. using tyre has made it easy peasy but one thing i have noticed is that it likes to use motorways, no problem just go into settings and check MW's as an avoidance. once this is set it takes the route that you made in tyre with no deviation.

i'm loving my 1410 but i do wish it had some of the features of a tomtom.
