Hi all,

I was using TomTom3 with no problem this am, and then I had an idle minute or two and started playing with the Sysonchip viewer software that came with the card. I think i switched over to sirf but have switched back.
When I tried TomTom it wouldn't work.

I've read elsewhere about Com port problems and occasionally when i plug the gps in my ipaq says recognised on com port 1!! I thought it was on com port 7?? Then I go back to TomTom and set up on the gps page....I select nmea v2 @4800 and sysonchip cf ...the red light on the card comes on but on the page showing the signal strengths the dots aren't moving anymore???
Help!!
I,ve tried it with the Navigator software I downloaded from this website...I set it up on com port 7 and nmea 4800 but it never gets a signal.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks
Don.

You may have switched the GPS to SiRF mode. Try installing Winfast Navigator and seeing if that will 'find' the GPS again. If nothing else, it's safer for trial and error than TomTom GPS (which I believe can issue mode switch commands to SiRF based receivers, potentially making 'finding' your 'lost' GPS trickier than it otherwise would be).
