Mike,

Yes, don't panic....I used the excellent ov2tools program to dump the files to ascii, combine what I need then save the file as an ov2 again.....and yes, as previously stated all the filenames, bmp and ogg names match....and, again as stated, this procedure worked perfectly with TTN v6 & 7....but as soon as I try to copy the ogg file to the '1005 via my tomtom - it says "The content you are trying to install cannot be used with your device. Check that you have the correct file"
I cannot access the device directly as they (TT) still haven't sorted it out yet Sad ..... somewhat worringly this also meand I can't back it up either but that's another story

Hi Guys, I don't know if I am being thick or something but I have downloaded the TomTom OV2 [ EUR - Speed Zoned Complete - pMobiles: Yes] (9.065 - 29 Jun 11), by selecting from the drop down lists (not d/l same version as before) and I cannot hear any voices. I have tried male and female both with and without the chimes but all are the same. When I unzip them I see three files for each type of camera, one stating the type of camera, one .ogg and one .ov2. the .ogg files do not have a speaker icon but the Windows default non association icon (the program group icon on a document). When I opy the download onto my TT and try to assign the sounds, nothing can be heard.
What am doing wrong?

Thanks John

After loading the camera files and the voice warnings have you configured the Warn When Near POI option?? - Mike

Yes I have, and when I get to the "do you want to use this sound" there is no sound! My volume is turned up and the files (ogg) will not play on my PC either via Media Player etc.

As a side issue I have done this procedure a few times before with the "GATSO 50" etc. voice files and they worked OK and still do, but I want the Euro ones on with KM warnings for an upcoming holiday.

Just configure the warn when near POI for each speed camera category installed to the unit, when it puts the screen up about "Is this the sound you want use" simply press "Yes" even though nothing is played, pressing "No" will cause the device to lock up needing a press of the reset switch to recover the situation - Mike

OK, I will do that but how will I know it has assigned a voice to a paticular camera type. On my UK ones I can set up a demo to pass cameras I know are there but I do not know which roads they are on in Europe.

As long as you get the screen asking about "Is the sound you want to use" the device has accepted the spoken alert, there is no reason to bother checking them all IMHO - Mike

From another Forum Pistol Shoot Out I have been advised that there was a recent update to the TomTom software that now permits the upload of .ogg files....so maybe I wasn't going completely mad Joker

Hi, got the alerts up and running (thanks guys). I noticed when setting them up there isn't a Specs 120 KM in either the male or female voice versions. Is this an error or do Specs 120 KM not exist in Europe?

Thanks

like with the bitmaps and spee cam files themselves you will ONLY receive the files if they are needed. If there are no 120 specs then you will not get a 120 specs voice or bitmap.

Hi MaFt, thanks for the info. I have got the bitmap so I thought it may have been an oversite on the voice alert.
