12 months maps and live device stolen

Hi my daughter had her xl live stolen, I'd paid for 12 months advance live services and map updates.

When I associate a different device with her account, will the subscription I have paid for be transferred on to her new device, or will I need to contact tomtom to do this?

You will need to contact TomTom.

They may ask for receipts of the old and new TomTom to prove you are the owner.

TomTom's instinct (or the script the droids work to) is to say 'no', but it has been done in the past in theft cases. You need to throw yourself on their mercy, and be persistent.

It should also help to have a police report. TomTom were very helpful when mine was recovered having been stolen, but with the maps corrupted.

I had thrown away everything as I never expected to see it again, but once I was able to provide them with evidence from the police, they were great. Once I reached the right person!

When I bought the 550 Live, passing the old 520 to my daughter, I rang TomTom to have the map update subscription transferred to the new device which they did without fuss.
