A question or two?

What use is the micro SD card slot? are there any performance gains from the 2GB card i just put in, or is it for storage of POI's.

For the time being the Micro SD card slot is the easy way to install Custom POI files to the device, there is more then enough spare capacity on within the device's Flash Memory for future Garmin updates and maps etc.

As for a speed increase from using a decent quality memory card this is a valid question, but to be honest I haven't seen any issues with route planning or while in use navigating while using the built in memory, had I had any thoughts about improvements device speed that I might gain from using a memory card I would have tried loading the map to the card but to date I see no reason to do so - Mike

Hi

I'm new to Garmin and have just received my 3790t. Not yet been out with the car but so far have found lots of things I like better than my old TT940. Hoping I've set up the PGPSW cameras correctly but am trying to check if the wav files are working. I haven't found a way of previewing a route with audible instructions and warnings like I could on the TT. Have I missed something obvious?

TIA

OK I've sussed it out. You have to turn on the GPS Simulator in System first. A bit more complicated. Also, it's a shame you don't seem able to simulate the route at a faster speed than 'real time'.
