Hi I've got a Rider 2 Europe as I need the ability to change maps. The 3 is limited as you need a computer due to map zones.
Can anyone confirm that the navcore on a 2 is the same as the 3 as I'm sure I read somewhere that its different?
If it is can it run on a 2 and how do I get it?
Thanks Noj

It is different, the Rider 3 uses a software version more akin to START than Rider 2.

There are few reasons why you'd want it running on your RIDER 2 and it is not available for or supported on it anyway.

Stick with the software you have!

Hi

Navcore 9.2 will run on the Rider2 but it has to be tweaked and it is not supported officially. The biggest problem is the amount of Ram on the 2 you get 32MB on the 3/urban you get twice that.
You dont get the lane guidance thats is part of the urban.

If you google it you can find sites that will help you get it working.

There are a couple of things that are of interest. particularly on the routing you get two extra options "eco route" and "Winding roads"

However you loose the option to autopower off when removed from a powered dock.

I find it works quite well but occasionally falls over and needs a reboot.

if you are using it for work like me STAY with 7.901, coz you will loss the best option compass to point to dest, all other NC will have you riding 30 more miles to save you 30 sec's
sadly my TT rider v1 died and I ended up with TT rider v3 and I hate NC 9.201 gets me lost and riding 100's of miles more each day

ps if any one has a dead V1 or V2 how much do you want for it so I can get my V 1 fixed. I just need the back would like the V2 so I can use the new caddy for the V3

Hi

I agree the loss of a compass is not good. especially if you had it show the distance to final destination it was quite interesting the difference between the actual distance and the travelled distance

Courierman I have sent you a PM
