How do I get the Speed Camera warnings into it???

Nothing I've tried seems to work.

AFAIK at present you cannot - or at least I have yet to find a way to do so.

I know the iPhone appears to have had an update recently so perhaps there is one due for Android (the iPhone one appears to fix the ETA problems at least) soon and they will allow true custom POI and speed cameras again.

I've emailed them to check up on the status of this... The latest beta version I have does have custom POI facility (iPhone). Just querying when this version will be available and the conversion software too. ALso on the status of custom POI in the Android version.

11.2.0 now released and I *think* this version fixes the over-exaggerated ETAs that affected UK users. Think it also fixes the 29mph speed camera warnings too..!

We also already have a 'Sygic Aura' download ready for the speed cameras. Just remember to follow the guide at http://www.sygic.com/poi and make sure you download the rupi convertor to get the downloaded files in the correct format!

Yep I have just upgraded too. However I am not sure that we can use spoken warnings (such as the .ogg files) can we? There is no mention of it in the POI page at Sygic.

Thanks MaFt. When you say a Sygic Aura download is that in CSV format? Is there any chance of being able download upi or rupi versions in the future to save the hassle of us all having to convert them please??

And yes it looks like the problem with the incorrect ETA has been sorted out. I have done a trial route and it looks about the correct time to me.

we can't produce the rupi files on-the-fly ourselves so they can't be watermarked at the time of download. unfortunately it's a trade-off between ease of use for you guys and protection of our data. the updated conversion software is much better than the old version as you can select multiple files in one go and hit convert. old version for upi files was a one-by-one process...

Sygic is like a No 7 bus - you wait for ages and then 2 come along at the same time! I have just noticed there is another update showing in My Apps. The only change appears to be that it is now compatible with Android. Don't really need that so may give it a miss at present.

I was waiting for the 3rd party POI situation to be resolved before installing and finally got around to downloading and installing the 7 day trial of v11.2.0 from the Android Market yesterday.

I also downloaded the rupi convertor but this will not run on my system.

I tried to use the alternative method of importing old upi format files (place in Maps\Import along with their associated bitmaps and when Sygic is next started it automatically offers to import them. This is not working for me either.

I know the files are ok as the are useable on my old mobile Maps 10 but after the import completes successfully when I try to navigate to a POI all the newly imported categories are disabled (greyed out). This happens even if I have set the category as a Main category under POI options so I still do not know if this is resolved or if I am missing some step.

I even navigated to an address containing one of the POIs and then asking for nearby POI but no joy.

No.

But you can use the built-in sounds, at least you can on the Android version.

MaFt

Windows 7 system, error dalogue is shown below

A quick google search shows this error is related to either Visual C libraries or .NET framework.

I maintain and manage my OV2 collections using tyre where I then batch convert them using Ov2Upi Translator and then POI Convertor. This has always worked perfectly for Mobile maps.

I have tried using the instructions on the Sygic website

1. Copy .upi/.rupi and .bmp files directly into Sygic/AURA/maps/import. Do not copy folders.
2. Launch Sygic GPS navigation.
3. A wizard for import of custom POI will open after launch.

This works so far that it imports the collections (imported without errors) but they do not then display within Aura.

I can be parked outside a POI and ask to navigate to nearby POI but the category is disabled (greyed out).

I have further investigation to do but if I manually add a POI to the category then future searches will display some (but not all) of the locations within the category. I wonder if there is a maximum number of POI points allowable under a category.

This behaviour occurs using my own private collectins and also PGPSW catgories downloaded and unedited from here.

Speed Cameras do not display either despite have them marked as shown under the MAP options.

I could manage without the RUPI convertor if I could get this importing to work

I suspect I am not going to have this sorted before the 7 day trial expires unfortunately so will have to wait until next major relase
