Getting to grips with it....is there a way to increase the time that the 'red flash bar' stays on...it seems to be so quick I barely had time to see what it said....no doubt someone will tell me that I've done something wrong.

In the advanced settings there is the option to allow a long pop up, it is only for 3 seconds tho', the default is 1 second.

I sometimes think a few more options may be useful, but I don't know if there are restrictions with the operating system and/or Android options.
I'm no App guru.

The pop-ups are known as "toasts" and we are limited to what the SDK allows us. Because they are always in front of whatever app is running we can only show them for a limited time if the app is in the background.

they are only greyed out if you switched off the warnings option in the main settings screen.

Any ideas on the following...2/3 programmes including CamerAlert have disappeared on occasion, needing me to download them again. (and again.) Last night, I got totally screwed up on CamerAlert as it didn't seem to doownload at all and when it did I, wrongly didn't partner it with my account here and after a few atempts it said something like too many accounts. I've now written seperately to request that they are all deleted so I can start again...but why don't they stay in my phone in the first place ? thanks.

As it is at present, when you install CamerAlert and register it, a new auto account in the format CA_XXXXXXX for iOS and CAA_XXXXXXX for Android is created.

If you have an existing account you then link using the 'Link Account' option.

A future update will change this process so you can link before an account is auto created but, for now, just ignore any of the accounts that were auto created.

As for apps being deleted, that's a new one on me. When you say disappeared, are you sure they aren't on the phone? Could it just be the shortcut that has gone? Do they disappear from the Programs menu, are they gone from Application/Unistall in settings?

Thanks...the Icon is missing on my Programs page and when I go to Settings and Applicatios and manage Applications, it is there but sort of Greyed out...when I hit it, one of the options is to move it to the phone, I hit that and it then said/says , 'Failed to move application. The application does not exist'. At this stage I hit 'Uninstall' and download it again...that's what's been happening.

How odd. Is the phone standard, no custom ROM installed? Do you have a memory card installed?

If it's offering to move it to the phone and it's greyed out then I would take a guess that it's on a memory card and either the phone can't access the memory card, the app has been deleted (but not uninstalled) from the card or you've removed the card.

Another option is that you have the phone connected tot he computer and the memory card is being accessed as USB storage so the phone can't get to the apps?

It's a new Orange San Francisco 11 with a 16Gb card installed...at the moment I'm preferring my old (now) Touch HD rumming on Windows 6.5 !
Another small point, which is no issue but interested to know.....when I put CamerAlert on her phone ages ago, I'm pretty sure I paid the 95p....(not that she uses it or is at all interested!)....and when I tried on the Orange phone a few nights back I had to pay another 95p...it didn't seem to know that I've already paid...unless I've again missed something, or did something wrong in the first place....(and I am not after a refund either!)

I try to move all apps to the card to save space which the guy in the Orange shop said to do ? It's happened with the TripAdvisor, Ebay, and a couple of others, but the rest seem to be fine. Should CamerAlert be on the phone at all times ?
I haven't touched the card since it's been in it and I've only hooked it up to the PC once while I try to get the hang of it first !

It's actually 59p and, so long as you signed into the Android Market using the same Google Account, you wouldn't be charged again.

If you have signed in using a different Google Account then you will be charged again.
