Use normal search for your destination and when satisfied click on Get Directions and type in your start point. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Sorry, I misunderstood, I thought you meant Google Maps on the Desk/laptop. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

That's what I thought too...
So what *do* you mean when you say "...type a destination in google maps? "
What SatNav brand are you using?? |

If all Androids are the same, set your route. Tap the "menu" button then select "Route Info", then in the bottom R/H corner of the screen shall be an Icon which looks like a sheet of paper with writing on it. Tapping this displays the route info, turn-by-turn. Scroll to the very last instruction and you shall be transported to your destination.
EDIT - or ....When you have set your route and the screen is showing you your present location, tap the green bar at the top of the screen then the Icon that looks like a sheet of paper, etc, etc,
EDIT2 - or .. set the route, tap the journey duration time in the bottom L/H corner of screen this shows a birds-eye of the whole route. Scroll and centre the destination and zoom back in. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Only necessary if you're travelling in Tardis. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

because it's a navigation app. the idea is to navigate you to the destination - that requires starting from where you are.
and yes, it's not a very good nav app but you et what you pay for.
