Last year I seem to remember from the newsletter that there were worries about TT precluding the use of third party POIs - it must have been when they announced the 1000 model. Ever since then, I have avoided updating my TomTom Home from v2.7.5.2014 and my 750 device from its firmware version (it's in the car so I can't quote the version). I am a member, so I have been updating the camera db periodically.
Have the fears gone away? Can I update happily?
Thanks in advance and apologies for not trawling through every news item for what should be a quick answer. |

I thought that was probably the case, just wanted to save a "doh" moment.
Thanks Paul. |

Well taking the SatNav out of the car every time is ok in theory...
But hiding it in the glovebox and NOT leaving any mark on the windscreen is easier... |

Aw c'mon! That device is small enough to fit in virtually any pocket. But suit yourself - Keynsham criminals are only six miles from Bristol. There may even be some in Bristol itself! _________________ Dennis

I lost my digital camera out of the glove box only last week.
(No windscreen marks from that or the TomTom either!).
The whole car is accessible after a stone through the window, and the glove box is the first place thy will empty. |

Plus your Insurance is unlikely to pay out in the event of loss. |

Last time my car was broken into, I did try to claim as I lost some expensive walking boots and waterproof jackets as well as a bunch of CDs and a tool kit.
Claiming on car insurance - total waste of time.
I hate car insurers SO much!
Claiming on house insurance - not bad at all for "household" stuff, but they wouldn't touch anything they considered "car" stuff such as sat navs and tools. |
