BaseCamp 3.1.1 was released on 19 October

Changes made from version 3.0.6 to 3.1.1:

* Added support for multiple new BirdsEye products.
* Added support for sorting, searching, browsing and filtering user data.
* Added support for ejecting devices from within BaseCamp.
* Added support for filtering tracks.
* Added support for display of track statistics and temperature.
* Added support for time offsets while geotagging photos from tracks.
* Added support for editing multiple waypoints, routes and tracks at a time.
* Added support for importing geotagged photos.
* Added support for full screen mode.
* Added support for non-rectangular selection area for BirdsEye downloads.
* Improved performance while importing, geotagging, autosaving and routing.
* Improved support for various DPI settings.
* Reduced memory required by BirdsEye imagery.

The new time offsets for geotagging photos will be really useful.

An enhancement probably missed by most users is that BaseCamp can use even downloaded "official" Garmin maps for planning purposes. So now every Garmin map or delivery method is supported for use within BaseCamp as far as I know.

According to a Garmin Q&A:
"The current versions of the Garmin BaseCamp application allows for preloaded, downloaded or preprogrammed (ie, SD card) maps, from Garmin, to be displayed in the application.

To view the map data:

1. Connect your Garmin device or insert a preloaded SD card into your computer's SD card slot
2. Open BaseCamp
3. Click View
4. Click Map Products
5. Select the appropriate map product from the list1

After selecting a map product from the list the maps should be viewable in BaseCamp.

1Some maps may take an extended amount of time to display in BaseCamp.

*Printing of maps may be restricted.
