My Nuvi has to go back to Garmin for a replacement and I want to remove the PGPSW database beforehand. Does anyone know how I can remove them in one go - the POI directory only contains the Cyclops database. There is a poi.gpi folder, however I don't want to delete anything that might lead to Garmin saying I've messed up the unit myself. (I can see how to delete one by one butI'd be on for ever!)

You can do a Master Reset which will erase all favourites etc that you loaded and will restore your unit to default factory settings.

1. With unit turned off, press your finger on lower right hand corner of screen.
2. Turn on unit while still pressing on screen.
3. Release power button when unit powers ON. You will see message asking if you really want to erase data.
4. Remove finger from touchscreen when this message displays and touch YES.
You will now have completed the reset and all PocketGPS data will have gone.

Unfortunately a master reset doesn't clear custom POIs, just favourites, trip details, recent finds etc.

IIRC, POI Loader clears all existing POI files from the unit (at least if you download at least one POI file - if it's necessary to do that, I guess you could always just load one empty or v small POI file.

Don't know if that's any good? Confused

Delete the POI.GPI file. It's the one that is created by POILoader and doesn't exist on new out of the box units. It's contains any and all the POIs you last loaded.

or if you're not comfortable with deleting files from the device manually then you can run POILoader which will have an option to either add new POIs or remove existing POIs. the latter will remove the poi.gpi file for you that paul mentioned.

Thanks I'll run POI to remove - don't want my licensed database being pirated elsewhere!
