It is virtually impossible to alter anything whilst travelling even for the passenger never mind the driver as i have found out whilst the wife is driving due to movement of the car and the somewhat smallness of the numbers etc. the most i can acheive whilst driving is changing the volume slider and even that usually has to sit in limbo if a manouvre or a distraction comes up, My priority is always the road and surroundings.

The position you have chosen for the sat-nav makes a big difference.
That has to be a factor, otherwise you woulnt be able to adjust the car's controls either!

I have mine mounted on the dash, a lot closer than most and there is a ridge just below it where I can rest my wrist for steadiness. I don't have many problems unless it's a VERY bumpy road.
