Just started Home to see if the 850 maps were out, and it says there is a critical update for home, which links to http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/application/releases/v2_7_5_2014_win.exe but it isn't there and fails.

Anyone know if it got pulled? What's happening?

Automatic update failed for me too (showed second message screen below).
So I tried it again using "Check for Home update" from the menu and got

Followed by:

So something's wrong somewhere.

I'd also seen other reports that the direct link failed, but it worked for me.

So I managed to get it downloaded and installed with no problems using the link.

Hmm, it is working for me too now. Odd!

When I do these update things, I upload the big file, then update the control file that tells systems that it is there. Looks like they did it the other way around.

It updated fine on my laptop but failed to install on my pc. Closed home, re-opened and selected update and it installed what had already downloaded fine.

I notice the option not to start home on windows startup has been removed Angry edit it doesn't seem to load with windows now so not a problem Smile

It still bluescreens my Windows 7 laptop as soon as I attach TomTom 730 to it. TomTom admitted that there was a problem months ago.

Anyway to stop it from trying to constantly install a newer version ????

I am happy with what I have.

Yes that drives me nuts too!!!

Everytime I connect up, TTH starts up & then asks me if I'd like to start the setup/install it. Twisted Evil

So far it's done it 4 times this afternoon, where I've been tinkering with my new 750, it's really starting to Censored me off.

Surely there's a way to stop it asking each time you connect?

Please do not use asterisks to circumvent the swear filter. PaulB2005

Are you running it from the pop up window that appears when you connect the Go? (The one that says "This disk or device contains more than one sort of content. What do you want Windows to do?")

If so, don't. There is an option in that pop-up to "Run TomTom Home, using the program provided on the device" but that is actually an installer programme. Don't use it.

If you've done a normal install of Home, there should be a "service" running all the time (loaded on boot up) which detects when the Go is connected and runs Home itself.
I have disabled that in the registry, so that I can run Home when *I* want it to run, from the Start menu like any normal program.
