Some while ago I posted a query about my 950. Now that I had "upgraded" to the Live traffic information, it appeared that I had lost the ability to obtain any data from the RDS/TMC system, in countries outside the Live region. (In particular, I am interested in Spain, where my 730T had traffic info, but my 950 does not appear to have.)

Some of the members were going to experiment to see if any form of traffic info could be obtained via the RDS/TMC system, and I wondered if we had arrived at a conclusion. I travel to Spain in 2 weeks.

My 950 works with the accessory RDS-TMC mount in the UK when the HD Traffic isn't available.

I'm using the Brodit active mount for my 950, with the dashboard fitting. The TT rds/tmc mount is a suction fitting, so presumably I can't use it with the Brodit kit.

Have a look at Mike A's recent posts about converting various TT mounts to use the "ball" from the Brodit system. He's certainly done it with the standard Go x40/x50 mount. The TMC mount is likely to be a bit more fiddly as the aerial goes through the swivel joint, but you could always re-route the cable if you're keen (it actually works quite well without any aerial at all!)

It is certainly possible but far from easy as you need to get the RDS aerial feed out of the mount via another connector on the back of the "Shoe" the device sits on which requires drilling a hole and soldering skills, if you feel up to such a job I can post up some details (This does offer the Rolls Royce x40/ x50 mount solution, and is even better when connected to the car aerial feed)

Alternate is to stick a dash disk to the Pro-Clip and use the suction mount of the RDS equiped dock to hold the device on the disk, much less work and a far more intrusive solution than is possible - Mike
