I seem to have lost the option to switch to North America in the maps selection screen. Have kept up to date with all the updates, v, 8.351, so any ideas, please?

Can you give us some more information....
If you connect the Go to your computer and browse the storage memory with Windows Explore, can you still find a map folder for America?
Have you ever made a full backup or moved the map onto your PC? (either manually or using TT Home)
What Europe map version are you on? Do you remember being told you needed to create more space when you did a previous Europe map update? |

Andy: I think you have hit upon the solution, namely space. It seems I will have to invest in a new SD card and load the NA map on to that, assuming I have no issues with regard to licensing.
I do not recall being told to move maps and I cannot find a folder currently on the 930 but I do have some ancient backups on old hard drives.
That said I wonder if the neatest solution will be to wait for TT to come up with a cheap map offer and download a new version. I do have a few months spare time.
Thanks as ever for showing the way

Until then, all you should need to do is find the "North America" folder in one of your old backups and copy the whole folder (and contents) onto an SD card.
Do this in whatever way is easiest for you, either using one of those little USB card readers or using the TomTom itself as a card reader (when you connect it to the PC it shoul see the card slot as a disk drive).
There's no need to get involved with TomTom Home, just simple copy and paste will work. |
