|
|
Hi All,
Recently acquired a Nuvi 205W as a replacement for a dead TomTom.
On the TomTom I used the PGPSW cameras and the spoken warning alerts with success.
I have downloaded the speed cameras for the Nuvi and they work ok with the Nuvi. I would however like to use the custom spoken alerts also.
I have downloaded the PGPSW Zoned Cameras and the Zoned .mp3 custom alerts. And also the .wav files I have then followed the instructions and installed both again via POI Loader. The .wav files appear to fail on copying with error unable to convert to proper format.
The result is that the cameras still only operate with the standard sounds on the Nuvi and not with the custom spoken alerts.
Should the custom alerts work with the Nuvi 205W if so which format should I be using?
Any help or advice would be most appreciated. Thanks. |

Did you also download SOX.EXE? POILoader insists on processing .WAV files with this, even if they are already in the correct format. (Don't leave the .MP3 versions of the files in situ - POILoader might use them in preference)
You can download it from HERE, amongst other places. Put it in the same directory as POILoader.exe

Thanks for the pointer Phil,
Yes that was the problem missed out that bit! Must learn to not rush as much...
Prior to using the custom voices the speed alerts only happened if I was over the speed limit, now they happen all the time irrespective of my speed, is this correct or is there a choice?
Thanks |
